Mike's Bar

It's a soft peaceful evening in P-ville, technically it's 97 and some feel the need to gripe about the temperature but personally I think it feels wonderful. There's a leetle breeze, iced tea and a wiggly chair, ALMOST perfect. Where's my that'll do piggy? So imagine it's hot and dry, right after sunset, I've got my feet propped up in another wiggly chair and across the freshly baled hay we're can see a thunderstorm rolling by in the distance. Lightening is dancing through the clouds that are highlighted by the setting sun and across the horizon there are sporatic clusters of fireworks. It couldn't possibly get better BUT BUT what is that I hear, warbling across two fences are the distinct strains...

And she says - take me away
Then take me farther
Surround me now,
And hold - hold - hold me like holy water

...it can't be. But it is! Mike's bar decided to up and move from the garage to the backyard for a special, HOSTED Karoeke Kegger Party. The his friend got fired from Knebels so he agreed to DJ tonight's partae. So from around 5ish til well, it's 11:30 and they're still going strong we've been serenaded by Mike and all his special friends. I really want to know if he moved his life-size wrestling dolls out there too. ANYWAYS. No matter that all they know is country, it's probably safer that way, and you say the keg's from Walmart? Walmart has kegs. WOW. I never would have guessed, still kinda in shock but that too is fitting. One-stop shopping.

I'm too tired to write what I want to say but the P-ville crazy night sky to the soundtrack of as many drunk red-necks and their kids that will fit into a single backyard, with several microphones and a pool was just so great. I think of all the electric equipment, alcohol and the pool. That's living on the edge right there. Hats off to the mullet men, I'm sleeping on the blue couch because my bed is covered in CLEAN clothes. At least this way i'll be closer to the window so they can lullaby me to sleep... nite.

Interested parties can contact me for the live recording of the venerable Mike singing something, I got it on my PDA, couldn't resist. :)

BTW: the ambulance and fire truck showed up around 1:30ish but they got one last song in after the police left...

I have no idea with the paramedics showed up, there's really no telling.
