Sunset

Chasing the sunset is like following the rainbow to its pot of gold. No matter how fast you drive down H-290 towards the blinding light of the setting sun it's impossible to get to where the sun goes to bed. Perhaps it's because I was following the speed limit or maybe sunset-land is reserved for baddies who don't care that they've passed 6 cops so far and aren't concerned with the nitty-gritty of actually paying for the ticket that children of God inevitably receive. In any case, I think there's a flaw in adventure department of my genetic/mental make-up. I might never find the sunset but that didn't take away from watching the sun slip over the horizon in a muted pinkish blue bath. My seatbelt shunning, door unlocking amici need to come home!!!

I'm home after a weekend chockful of EXCITING events. Highlights include: beaching, old friends, chats, hugs, beach strolls, reading US in Laguna (almost on-site!!), icy ocean dips, sand EVERYWHERE, DP pit stops, cars full of girls, leisurely hiking, playing on the playscape (It'd been so LONG! It's like rediscovering coloring books.), a wonderful steak dinner and then there's always early-morning breakfast. It's so nice to wake up that way. YUM! :)

Understandably after all this it was hard to come home; I so did not want to be dropped off at the airport and once deposited I refused to take off my sunglasses. This did, in fact, elicit side-glances and a few un-abashed stares and I stared right back until I remember my wonderful little silver PDA and dug it out of the depths of my purse. I opened exodus 61-63 which I had decided earlier to re-read awhile ago and hadn't quite gotten to yet and began to scroll through the pages. This section is on the law given to Moses and is so full of life. Brother Lee repeats again and again that the law is to bring us to the Lord. When we read the Word and the ministry we are brought into the Lord and I sat there in the busy airport lobby, with my sunglasses on, receiving the infusion of the Lord's love into my sad, little, tripartite being. By the time I walked on my flight to my middle seat, 23B, I could say is "Lord, I love you and I love Your Word. I want to stay with you." (pg. 744, "As long as you love the Lord and His Word and as long as you stay with Him, He will do in you what you cannot do yourself.") Of course this applies to a very broad spectrum of life but it met me where I needed to be met and supplied me as I needed to be supplied. So I got to my seat, rolled up in my blue blanket, tucked the white itchy pillow behind my neck, lifted the head-rolling prevention, and slept for the 3rd time ever on a flight. One miracle was followed by another when I found my car where I left it and managed to find home by driving into the sunset.

SO, Here I am at work with 5 bandaids covering my fingertips, my co-worker said I reminded her of a psycho-killer from a 50's movie, GREAT, and those very same fingers are FREEZING (slightly purple-ish white) so my squeezable tube of peanut butter and I are going to find lunch in a warmer climate.
