Carcass
This evening I went outside with my mommy to watch for fireflies while I waited for the muscle relaxants to kick in. She describes them as truth serum however I think that may only apply to those of us with a more guarded tongue. If you're like me and say what you think irregardless, well, it really doesn't do much for ya. Unless of course I am being more forthright than usual and just don't know it. That is entirely possible and perhaps my lucky readers will get a new special insight into the workings of my brain. Right. About those fireflies; there was a little light left from the sunset, that perfect amount that lends a golden glow to everything. It's one of the things that makes sunsets so wonderful. And as I basked in the aforementioned glow I looked over at my kitty lying in the grass next to my lawn chair and THERE IT WAS. A grey fur ball. I assumed it was from some careless individual emptying the pool buddy into the grass and so I casually pointed it out to my mom. I took her grimace as a sign and looked again. A LEG. EWW. It was a little PETREFIED MOUSIE that kit had rolled in so many times that all that's left is the fur skin and one sad little leg. Gross. But you know, it doesn't smell anymore, there's nothing left to rot on it. I just didn't have the heart to take it away from her, she loves rolling in it so much. ewww... i know.
In other news I have decided that I cant handle waiting a whole year to begin graduate school so I'm going to apply for Spring 2OO6. That means I have to have every thing done by Sept. 1st. So July and August will be very busy esp. since I have no idea what to write as my personal statement and 2 of the profs I need are on sabbatical. im sure I will make time to enjoy nature even if it's just a baby grackle staring me down while I trudge through math problems. Sleepy time! My meds are kicking in...
