chocolate chip cookie dough

First I'd like to preface this with the fact that I got 2 hours of sleep last night. An excuse and I'll take it. Today I had to get my eyes examined, with my new contacts in them, to make sure that they fit my eyes properly in order to be allowed to purchase contacts from my eye doctor. WOW. so anyway. I schedule the checkup for 12:15pm it's a routine 5 minute MAX procedure, blink blink, blink blink, look up, blink, look down, blink. Bye. So I ran out of my freezing office, down three escalators, around the bottom floor, out the door, through the mini-tornado that's always there, past hordes of new freshies, down the spongy running trail, across the dirt path, across the street, down the side walk to my car (apx time: 5 minutes in heels). THEN I attempted to drive calmly through dorm traffic to the doctor and walked in as breezely as possible when one is covered from head to toe with several layers and it's pushing 100 outside. I brought in all my old glasses to donate to 3rd world peoples and sat and waited. I was the only customer to 6 employees and thankfully evil girl, whom I detest wasn't there, but still, I waited. 10 minutes pass, I decide to redeem the time and read the Bible I brought. 1 John 2 is very hard to concentrate on when someone is strangling a cat on the radio, on tempo. 25 minutes, 2 people come in and get helped, THERE'S THREE OPTIMALOGISTS!!!! 30 minutes, 31 minutes, I can no longer focus on my verses as I feel my chances of eating something for lunch (besides BIG BOWL INSTANT OATMEAL) slip slowly through my fingers... FINALLY 40 minutes later I am invited back into the cool dark room where I receive an arm rub and a sweater compliment. "Is that Talbots?" NO I DON'T WEAR TALBOTS AND DON'T TOUCH ME AND... I'M HUNGRY. :\ hehe. I think my doctor felt guilty for making me wait and wanted to be nice and his wife loves to shop at Talbots. Poor man; I behaved and was promptly released only to discover that evil girl had arrived during my time in the back room and had ordered the wrong, more expensive, itchy, bad contacts and the computer system was down AND I still hadn't eaten anything. So I'm standing there, trying not to glare at evil girl who wasn't helping matters and was dressed in a horrible purple pinstriped s/him dress suit (jacket longer than dress with SHOULDER PADS, white platforms, and spiky mascara which tied the whole outfit together. No, I'm not being petty, judgemental or superficial. This particular outfit was an outward expression of the inward meanness of evil girl. Think Cruela, Esma...) Besides that, WHY was she put in charge of my file AGAIN??! Hm. well grace, perhaps so that you will call on the lord audibly in the waiting area (mommy's voice in head,) in fact yes, I realized that indeed I was audibly calling because she started staring at me. Finally my distress was noticed by nice, brunette girl (who doesn't like the evil girl either!) and she told me that she would take care of everything and call me later on after she refunded my money. Relieved, I fled back into the heat, to my car and made no pretense of calmness as I PLOWED back to campus through traffic, found parking and realized... there was no lunch for the princess. but but, no time for self-pity, I ran around to my promptly popped safe haven and dug until I came up with a Power Bar that someone had sent me a LONG time ago and I hadn't wanted to eat because I was saving it. For what you ask? Well, at the time I was saving it because it made me smile but today as I ran across the street, around the dirt trail, up the spongy track, through the freshmen.... I ate the most delicious, discontinued lunch ever. The heat had melted the chocolate coating and it was awfully lovely. So I'm back in ANTARTTICCA anticipating the moment that I will run back out to my car and brave traffic once again so that I can pack for BOSTON with my little sister. 2 hours. baci.

Perhaps I exaggerated on the discontinued comment, I cannot for the life of me find them here though. The sleep stealer is a frequent one.
